MUD PIE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

 

The Mud Pie Internship Program offers college students an opportunity to gain significant work experience in a number of roles integral to Mud Pie’s business operations.

Program Description:

Mud Pie offers a 6-8 week summer internship opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in the wholesale import, product development and e-commerce industries. Interns work with specific departments within Mud Pie that match their coursework, experience and career interests. During the internship, students will work closely with Mud Pie employees, including senior staff, to complete a variety of practical assignments that will put students on the path to professional success. Interns will also be able to participate in professional development workshops, lunches with company leadership and other activities held over the course of the summer.

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible for the Mud Pie Internship Program, interns must be full-time students actively working towards a graduate or undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university, with at least a 3.0 GPA. Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least six semesters of undergraduate coursework. Interns will need to bring their own laptop.

Compensation:

Mud Pie is proud to offer paid internships. Interns will be paid at an hourly rate.

Information Systems Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Mud Pie is seeking a graduating senior for an internship with Mud Pie’s Information Systems Department during the Summer of 2018. The internship will be located at Mud Pie’s Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and will be paid at an hourly rate.

The Information Systems Intern will assist the members Information Systems Department with all aspects of their daily responsibilities, including, but not limited to: business reporting, application maintenance and business process support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot enterprise applications, including managing the support process, documenting and implementing resolution
  • Document all business processes
  • Build reports within business applications (Apprise, WMS, SQL)
  • Assist with day to day reporting responsibilities, including Month End reporting, Sales reporting, etc.
  • Data administration -- assist in ensuring and maintaining integrity of data throughout the organization.
  • Track and report all system changes and enhancements

Requirements:

  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Access
  • Experience with enterprise applications and databases (SQL, MYSQL, OracleSQL) is required
  • Experience with reporting packages such as QlikView, Cognos, and Tableau
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem solving and reasoning abilities
  • Must work well in fast-paced, customer-driven environment with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and good judgment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with separate requirements, demands, and user groups simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization 
  • Experience with PLM or WMS systems a plus

Product Development Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Mud Pie seeks a rising college senior or recent graduate for an internship with Mud Pie’s Product Development Department during the summer of 2018. The internship will be located at Mud Pie’s Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and will be paid at an hourly rate.

The Product Development Intern will support the designers and merchandisers within the Product Development department’s Kids, Living and Fashion divisions. Specific responsibilities will include: researching categories for new or add-on product ideas; gathering lists of words or sayings for different product categories; researching marketplace pricing for different categories; showroom ticketing; preparation of story boards/trending boards for new theme ideas; organization of strike-off filings and product samples; updating and printing line sheets; and assisting with design of products.

Requirements:

Candidate must be a rising college senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Product Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Engineering or Design or other design oriented majors. Recent graduates with the requisite degree background will also be considered. Candidates must have Adobe Illustrator knowledge and experience.

E-Commerce and Public Relations Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Mud Pie seeks a rising college senior for an internship with Mud Pie’s E-Commerce and Public Relations Department during the Summer of 2018. The internship will be located at Mud Pie’s Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and will be paid at an hourly rate.

The E-Commerce and Public Relations Intern will assist Mud Pie’s E-Commerce and Public Relations teams with all aspects of their positions. Specific responsibilities will include: assisting with gift show event preparation; preparation of press materials for Fall/Holiday product launches; management of samples for vlog series, blogger relationships and media; development of look books; hot spotting of catalogs; cropping and editing images of products for website; and support of social media and websites.

Requirements:

Candidate must be a rising college senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and must possess strong analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills. The Candidate must also have the ability to multi-task, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Competitive candidates will also have some experience creating graphics.

Sales and Marketing Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Mud Pie seeks a rising college senior for an internship with Mud Pie’s Sales and Marketing Department during the Summer of 2018. The internship will be located at Mud Pie’s Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and will be paid at an hourly rate.

The Sales and Marketing Intern will assist Mud Pie’s team of sales and marketing professionals with the daily administrative, support and marketing tasks required to drive the sales of Mud Pie products. Specific responsibilities will include: assisting with gift show event preparation; preparation for trade shows, including packing and setting up trade show booths, training and customer sales; analysis of sales information and preparation of sales reports; preparation of product training materials for sales representatives; and communication with Mud Pie’s internal and external sales teams.

Requirements:

Candidate must be a rising college senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Communications or related field. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and must possess strong analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills. The Candidate must also have the ability to multi-task, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Operations and Logistics Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Mud Pie seeks a rising college senior for an internship with Mud Pie’s Operations Department during the Summer of 2018. The internship will be located at Mud Pie’s Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and will be paid at an hourly rate.

The Operations and Logistics Intern will assist the members Operations Department with all aspects of their daily responsibilities, including, but not limited to: assisting with the product purchasing process, managing inventory, generating reports on inventory and vendor performance, communicating with vendors, and monitoring shipments.

Requirements:

Candidate must be a rising college senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and must possess strong analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills. The Candidate must also have the ability to multi-task, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of purchasing and inventory business processes and/or ERP systems are each a plus.

Graphic Design Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Mud Pie seeks a rising college senior or recent graduate for an internship with Mud Pie’s Product Development Department during the Summer of 2018. The internship will be located at Mud Pie’s Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and will be paid at an hourly rate.

The Graphic Design Intern will assist Mud Pie’s Product Development Team. Specific responsibilities will include: designing and uploading all showroom print production (window graphics, elevator clings, etc), graphic designing/art direction for all print marketing (advertising for trade show magazines and design/prep for print any showroom printed materials needed), designing original prints, artwork, illustrations across all 3 divisions- Kids, Fashion, and Home (watercolor artwork and drawn illustrations by hand on paper or iPad), digitizing hand-made artwork info scalable art, turning artwork into repeating patterns, recoloring art and creating color palates, and working with all designers in PD supporting items as needed.

Requirements:

Candidate must be a rising college senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Print Production or Design or other design oriented majors. Recent graduates with the requisite degree background will also be considered. Candidates must have Adobe Illustrator knowledge and experience.
